Tracy Harris has been an endorsed Yamaha Performing Flute/Piccolo/Low Flutes Artist and Clinician for 15 years performing extensively on flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute. 

 

Ms. Harris is a dedicated soloist, chamber musician, flute clinician, bestselling author and adjudicator for local, national and international competitions, and is currently the Flute Professor and Artist in Residence at both the College of the Sequoias and Bakersfield College. Ms. Harris also is the Director of the award winning Wyndfall Flute Orchestra which has won several international competitions held by the National Flute Association. Members of her international studio have won national and international competitions and Ms. Harris herself was the first prize winner in the San Francisco International Flute Festival competition. Besides enjoying a successful solo and chamber music career she has also held first chair positions with many orchestras such as ; the Santa Maria Symphony, the Pacific Coast Symphony, the West Coast Symphony, the Tulare Symphony, the Sequoia Symphony and is currently Alto Flutist and Substitute Principal and soloist in residence for the Sequoia Symphony.

 

Ms. Harris records on the Elite Source Label, and her CD "Iroquois Suite", features works by Herman Beeftink, major motion picture composer for such films as The Simpsons Movie and Lions for Lambs. Her latest CD's "Eklectick" and "The Lyric Flutist”recorded with her duo partner Svetlana Rudikova-Harris and flutist Ramakrishnan Kumaran have won critical acclaim and feature classics, new arrangements and compositions written by herself and Dr. Todd Harris. Ms. Harris attended The Music Academy of the West for three summers and has the distinction of being the youngest flutist ever accepted into their summer program. Ms. Harris’ teachers include; Julius Baker - Principal flutist and soloist in residence for the New York Philharmonic, Claude Monteux, Jim Walker-Yamaha Artist and Principal Los Angeles Philharmonic and Jill Felber Miyazawa Artist. Ms Harris has presented internationally at NAFME, TMEA, NYSSMA, NFA, SCSBOA, CASMEC music educator conventions and many more music education conferences. 

 

Ms. Harris is the master teacher and musical director for the Central Valley Flute Academy which offers instruction to students of all ages and abilities and has a large social media following with thousands of followers across multiple platforms.
